Location: University of Zaragoza (2 years) and University of Groningen (1 year)

Salary: 33,343.44 euros (more annual salary increases)

Hours: Full Time

Contract Type: Fixed-Term (3 years)

Deadline: until the position is filled.

Start Date: As early as possible, with the latest start date being January 1st, 2025.

The Role

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on modelling socio-technological scenarios and assessing socio-economic and environmental impacts through the development of MRIO models and extensions to CGE models. The research will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will focus on addressing global challenges related to sustainability and technology development.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop socio-economic and environmental models using MRIO and CGE approaches.

· Collaborate with an international and interdisciplinary team across economics, environmental sciences, and engineering.

· Contribute to research publications, conferences, and workshops related to socio-technological transitions.

Requirements

· PhD in Economics, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields

· Strong analytical and programming skills, with a solid foundation in input-output analysis and model extensions

· Experience in using or developing CGE models is highly desirable

· Interest in modelling the energy transition and decarbonization processes

· Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment with flexibility regarding work dynamics

PANTHEON is an international research project funded by the EU Horizon Europe program and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology. It aims to develop an integrated assessment modelling framework and decarbonization roadmaps to help the EU and China achieve carbon neutrality while considering socio-economic and environmental impacts.
